Al lange tijd werd er gezocht naar een nieuwe, iconische slechterik voor de 24ste Bond-film, zo beschreef het doorgaans betrouwbare MI-6 destijds. Wel, vandaag is hij gevonden, en wel in de vorm van Guardians of the Galaxy’s Drax the Destroyer: Dave Bautista. Zal hij de nieuwe Jaws of Oddjob worden?
“Whoever wins the role will have several altercations with Daniel Craig’s 007 throughout the film and also a driving sequence. Former sports athletes will be under consideration along with anyone ‘very unusual’. The character has the working name of ‘Hinx’ (which may change before shooting starts) and is said to be between 30 and 45 years old… The goal is to find the next Jaws or Oddjob – a henchman so different to anything that has gone before that they will become instantly iconic in the film series.”Het oorspronkelijke gerucht bevatte ook een hint naar de naam van het nieuwe personage. Dit zou mogelijk Hinx zijn, maar dit werd nooit bevestigd en zou dus nog kunnen wijzigen tijdens de productie van de film. James Bond wordt opnieuw gespeeld door Daniel Craig en ook Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris en Ben Whishaw keren terug.
De nog altijd titel-loze film staat gepland voor een release op 5 november 2015.
