De Japanse ontwikkelaar Platinum Games heeft een behoorlijk drukke agenda. Terwijl enkele maanden geleden Transformers: Devastation verscheen, werkt de studio momenteel samen met Nintendo om Project Guard en Star Fox Zero dit jaar voor de Wii U uit te brengen. Alsof dat nog niet genoeg is, is de studio ook nog bezig met de PlayStation 4-exclusive NieR: Automata en daarnaast staat de Xbox One-exclusive Scalebound ook nog altijd op de planning.
Tijdens Microsofts persconferentie op de E3 van 2014 werd Scalebound onthuld, maar een release blijkt voorlopig nog ver weg. Platinum Games laat nu namelijk weten dat Scalebound pas in 2017 zal verschijnen, waar eerder nog gespeculeerd werd op een release later dit jaar. Hoewel de ontwikkeling van Scalebound voorspoedig verloopt, heeft Platinum nog tot 2017 nodig om hun visie voor de game te kunnen realiseren:

Scalebound is one of the biggest games PlatinumGames has ever created: an epic adventure filled with exploration and fantasy gameplay, inventive multiplayer, and action-packed battles on an unbelievable scale – all set in a beautiful and evolving world. It’s the game our team has always dreamed of making.In order to deliver on our ambitious vision and ensure that Scalebound lives up to expectations, we will be launching the game in 2017. This will give us the time needed to bring to life all the innovative features and thrilling gameplay experiences that we have planned.
Jammer, maar we hebben forza horizon 3 nog wel nog niet aangekondigt maar iedereen weet dat die komt. Ook quantum break, recore, crakcdown, gears 4, cuphead en sea of thieves en fable legends komen nog. Ook komen er zeker nog wat titels die pas in het jaar zelf aangekondigt worden zoals vorig jaar Gears ultimate edition, rare replay enzo 😉
Zoals het nu lijkt hoeft de Xbox One gamer niet te klagen en of Scalebound nou de game is waar je op gaat wachten….
