Walt Disney Pictures en Lucasfilm hebben de officiële cast voor Star Wars: Episode VII bekendgemaakt. John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson en Max von Sydow zullen allemaal een rol spelen in de film. Ze sluiten zich aan bij de hoofdrolspelers uit de originele trilogie: Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, en Kenny Baker.
Regisseur J.J. Abrams liet bij de bekendmaking ook van zich horen:
“We are so excited to finally share the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII. It is both thrilling and surreal to watch the beloved original cast and these brilliant new performers come together to bring this world to life, once again. We start shooting in a couple of weeks, and everyone is doing their best to make the fans proud.”Star Wars: Episode VII verschijnt op 18 december 2015 wereldwijd in de bioscoop.
