Until Dawn, een survival horror game exclusief voor de PlayStation 3, is mogelijk geannuleerd, zo meldt retailer Amazon. Het bedrijf zegt dat ontwikkelaar Supermassive Games, bekend van LittleBigPlanet Vita en Walking With Dinosaurs, aan Amazon zou hebben laten weten dat de ontwikkeling van het spel is gestopt.
We recently learned that the manufacturer of Until Dawn – PlayStation 3 cancelled this release and it will not be available for purchase. As a result, we’ve cancelled the item from your pre-order and you have not been charged.Amazon heeft in reactie mails verstuurd naar consumenten die Until Dawn van een pre-order hebben voorzien, met de melding dat de PlayStation 3-exclusive geannuleerd is. Een vreemde onthulling, aangezien Supermassive Games vorige maand nog aangaf dat de ontwikkeling van de game prima verliep.
We wachten uiteraard op een officieel bericht en misschien wordt Until Dawn wel overgeheveld naar de PlayStation 4.
Update: Niet lang na dit bericht heeft ontwikkelaar Supermassive Games gereageerd en daaruit blijkt dat Until Dawn niet is geannuleerd. De game heeft geen release meer in 2013, dat is duidelijk, maar de developer meldt dat we volgend jaar meer zullen zien van Until Dawn, aldus Pete Samuels, managing director van Supermassive.
Until Dawn is most definitely not cancelled and we are still developing it. Not only that, but we’re really excited about what we’re creating and can’t wait to tell more and show more sometime soon. I understand that the silence has been frustrating for those people who have been looking out for more details.It’s clearly not planned to be a 2013 release any longer and I’m hoping and expecting to be able to say more in the new year, but that’s really all I’m able to say right now.
