Battle of Jakku te zien op concept art Star Wars: Battlefront

Eerder dit jaar meldden we al dat de Battle of Jakku in december gratis toegevoegd wordt aan Star Wars: Battlefront. Dit spectaculaire gevecht, dat zich als enige in de game niet afspeelt ten tijde van de originele trilogie, dient als prequel op de bioscoopfilm Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

EA heeft nieuwe concept art vrijgegeven waarop de Battle of Jakku te zien is. Het eerste plaatje toont een brandende Star Destroyer die we eerder al zagen in de tweede Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser. Ook is te zien hoe de bemanning het schip evacueert en daarbij hun AT-AT’s en AT-ST’s meeneemt. Concept artist Anton Grandert vertelt enthousiast over de indrukwekkende schaal van het gevecht:

There’s a David and Goliath theme to this. The epic, huge super structures of the Star Destroyers contrast against the tiny but brave Rebel soldiers fighting the Imperial forces. We wanted to portray a battle completely surrounding you, in every direction. Debris is falling from the sky, telling the story of battles above. On the surface of the planet you can see ground troops as well as X-wings, all taking part of the fight.
