PlayStation-directeur: goede Vita-projecten zijn in de maak

De PlayStation Vita ligt al sinds vorig jaar in de Japanse winkels, maar vooralsnog is het aantal toptitels voor het apparaat op één hand(held) te tellen. PlayStation-directeur Andrew House vraagt Vita-bezitters om nog even geduld te hebben, want volgens hem zit er een aantal zeer goede projecten in de pijplijn:

We’ll show [the new projects] when the time is right. You can be assured that, whether it’s first-party or third-party, there’s a good raft of content in the works there.

Volgens Houser gaat het hierbij niet alleen om games: men werkt momenteel ook aan een reeks interessante applicaties. Deze moeten extra gemak en plezier bieden:

I think at E3 we also showed that there’s a commitment to broadening out network services other than games, whether it’s YouTube or Hulu Plus, which aren’t at the core of the PS Vita’s offering, but provide additional convenience and fun. If we were remiss on not spending enough time on the PS Vita at E3, I’ll take that one under advisement, but you can rest assured it’s not for the want of any sense of overall commitment.

Sony heeft eerder al laten weten de verkoopcijfers van de Vita te willen stimuleren met goede games. Een prijsverlaging behoort niet tot hun strategie en kunnen we in 2012 dan ook nog niet verwachten.
