In 1982 maakte regisseur Ridley Scott succesfilm Blade Runner met Harrison Ford in de hoofdrol. Circa 2012 zal hij een sequel maken op de film. Naast Scott zal ook co-schrijver Hampton Fancher terugkeren voor de sequel.
“the much-anticipated project is intended to be a sequel to the renowned original. The filmmakers would reveal only that the new story will take place some years after the first film concluded.”
Scott vertelt zelf hierover:
“I started my first meetings on the Blade Runner sequel last week. We have a very good take on it. And we’ll definitely be featuring a female protagonist.”
Eerst zal Scott film the Counselor maken en ook Gertrude Bell, met Angelina Jolie in de hoofdrol, zal waarschijnlijk gefilmd worden voordat hij aan Blade Runner zal beginnen.
