Activision en id Software zullen de PC first-person shooter op de Electronic Entertainment Expo later deze maand, laten zien.
Doom III zal met de zeer krachtige 3D Engine real-time belichting, schaduw’s, via de fotocamera(digitaal) gemaakte characters en monster figuurtjes gemakkijk aankunnen. Hoewel er nog maar weinig informatie is vrijgelaten over dit spel, zal het spel verhaal in ieder geval een science fiction, horror thema hebben.
“Doom III will change what people expect to see and experience in a PC game,” vertelde Todd Hollenshead, CEO van id Software, de studio die de vorige versies van Doom succesvol in elkaar zette. “We couldn’t be more psyched about Doom III, and are thrilled to debut the title at E3 with Activision. Get ready to be terrified.”
“We are excited to continue our successful and long-standing relationship with id,” vertelde weer Larry Goldberg, vice president van Activision Worldwide Studios. “I’m sure that id fans and action gamers alike share our anticipation for the latest incarnation of Doom, which is one of the most important franchises in PC gaming history. There is no doubt that Doom III will be at the top of every gamer’s most wanted list.”
De originele Doom, wat rond 1993 uitkwam, wordt ook wel gezien als een spel dat de revolutie van de first-person shooter genre tot leven bracht! Doom III is klaar gestoomd in bijna twee jaar tijd door id Software. Er zijn nog geen officiële datums vrijgegeven, van wanneer het uitkomt. En dat is toch best jammer! Maar ondertussen houden we jullie op de hoogte.
