Afgelopen vrijdag verscheen Ashes of Ariandel, de eerste DLC voor Dark Souls 3, al kortstondig in de Xbox Store. En hoewel de uitbreiding al snel weer offline werd gehaald, heeft uitgever Bandai Namco nu besloten om de release met één dag te vervroegen. Aan Gamespot laat Bandai Namco weten dat de vervroeging inderdaad met de vroegtijdige lek te maken heeft:
Due to a logistical error, the Dark Souls III Ashes of Ariandel DLC was made available for download for a short period of time for Xbox One players. We have since corrected this scheduling error and the Dark Souls III Ashes of Ariandel DLC will now be available on October 24, 2016 at 3 PM PDT for Steam players and October 24, 2016 at 9 PM PDT for console players. We regret any confusion this may have caused to players and Dark Souls III fans; we look forward to seeing everyone within the world of Ariandel.Uiteindelijk komt Ashes of Ariandel in Nederland dus vanavond om 00:00 uur uur uit op de pc en om 06:00 uur op de console. Uiteindelijk maakt de vervroegde release dus niet heel veel verschil voor ons als Europeanen.
