Volgende maand verschijnt de eerste DLC voor Titanfall, genaamd Expedition. Deze uitbreiding voegt 3 nieuwe mappen toe aan de game. Vince Zampella, mede-oprichter van ontwikkelaar Respawn Entertainment, vertelde dat Expedition vooral bedoeld is om de hele fanatieke spelers tegemoet te komen. In de toekomst wil Respawn uitgebreidere updates gaan uitbrengen.
Zampella zei in een recent interview dat er hard gewerkt wordt aan nieuwe spelmodi voor Titanfall:
There are a couple of new things. You can wall-run on the trees. In particular, you can wall-run around the tree and choose the direction to jump off. You can run around the tree and then jump. It’s one of those things we realized was pretty cool.As soon as we can, we will add new modes. It won’t make the initial DLC pack. The new maps will hold people off a little bit. We wanted to strike a balance of having people get through the content easily and also have enough content to play with. People burned through it pretty fast.
That’s the way game development is. You have 1,000 ideas. You can’t do them all. You pick the ones that have the most impact. Some of it won’t see the light of day or will wind up in a sequel.

Ik wordt een beetje moe van die standaard 3 map DLC’s, wanneer komen nou grote DLC’s uit die meer waarde toevoegt aan een game dan alleen 3 maps of een andere spelmodus?
Ik wil terug naar de oude systeem, waar nieuwe maps in gratis updates zaten verwerkt en om de zoveel tijd een expansion uitkwam van ongeveer €30 waar een complete nieuwe game aan je basis game werd toegevoegd.
