De knotsgekke Angry Birds van Rovio Entertainment vliegen in 2016 naar het witte doek. De verfilming heeft nu twee regisseurs aan zich weten te binden, namelijk Clay Kaytis en Fergal Reilly. Dit nieuws maakte Rovio Entertainment vandaag bekend.
De twee maken dan wel hun debuut als regisseur, ze zijn al ware veteranen op animatie-gebied. Kaytis werkt al zo’n 19 jaar bij Disney waarin hij onder ander meewerkte aan titels als Tangled, Wreck-It Ralph, Bolt en Disney’s nieuwe anitmatie-film Frozen.
Reilly werkt sinds 2003 bij Sony Pictures Animation. Hier hielp hij onder andere mee aan de film Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Hotel Transylvania en Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2.
Over de aanstelling van de twee debutanten liet, CEO van Rovio Entertainment, Mikael Hed weten:
“I’m very excited that Fergal and Clay have joined us, bringing with them their vast expertise. They are two of the brightest rising talents in animation, and I’m confident we are building the right team to tell the story of Angry Birds and deliver an amazing movie experience to our fans.”
De verfilming van Angry Birds moet in juli 2016 in de bioscoop draaien.
