Na drie dikke uitbreidingen voor Magic: The Gathering is nu ook Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012 aangekondigd. ‘Duels 2012’ is in tegenstelling tot voorgaande uitbreidingen een standalone add-on die veel nieuws biedt aan fans en liefhebbers Magic: The Gathering.

This standalone, updated version of the base game will feature an improved engine, new modes (including the Archenemy mode, a co-op 2v2), new opponents, new puzzles, and of course new decks, among other features. It will not be compatible with the original game, but rewards will be offered for those who make the switch (to be announced later).Opvallend genoeg komt Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012 gewoon deze zomer uit op Steam, Xbox LIVE en het PlayStation Network.
