Op 20 juni groot feest in Lord of the Rings Online

Codemasters heeft vandaag meer bekend gemaakt over het zogenaamde Summer Solstice Festival. Het feest, dat vanaf nu jaarlijks op de kalander staat, wordt virtueel gehouden in Middle-earth zelf. Zo zullen er extra quests, vendors en andere activiteiten zijn.

´Summer Solstice Festival is het eerste van de vele evenementen die we op de planning hebben staan voor Lord of the Rings Online´, verklaard Jeffrey Anderson, president en CEO van Turbine, Inc. ´Deze festivallen zijn gekoppeld aan content updates.´

Ieder ras heeft zijn eigen feest. Zo is het Lithe Festival voor de Hobbits, de Summerdays voor de mensen, het Summerfest voor de Dwarves en het Festival of Enedhin voor de elfen. Dat er gefeest wordt houdt in dat er vuurwerk is, gedanst mag worden en uiteraard gedronken wordt. De extra questen van Summer Solstice Festival hebben betrekking op de volgende dingen.

Dancing: There will be dancing quests with new race-specific dance emotes as a reward.

Fireworks: Players who collect fireworks from each of the four vendors in the Summer Solstice Festival will receive a unique firework.

Scavenger Hunts: Players can participate in one of three scavenger hunts that will grant them unique special recipes, seeds and pipeweed.

Hobnanigans: Join in madcap chicken-chasing games! There is an arena near the Bree Festival Grounds with two team captains as quest bestowers. Once twelve players are ready, the “Game Hen” will appear in the center of the arena and players will use a stick to persuade the chicken around the arena. Each team will have to get the chicken into a goal at the far end of the field three times within a certain time limit.

De spelers kunnen feesten vanaf 20 juni tot 10 juli. Er worden blaascontroles verwacht.
