NVIDIA (GeForce, nForce) heeft laten weten dat zij gaan samenwerken met AMD voor hun nieuwe Grapics Proccessing Unit (GPU). Ze zullen de nieuwe techniek gebruikt bij de nieuwe AMD Opteron processor gaan gebruiken. Zo kan NVIDIA over 64-bits architecturen beschikken, waar ze erg enthousiast over zijn (dit maakt de proccesor weer flink sneller).
“As the leader in graphics and platform processing solutions, we are excited about new high performance 64-bit and 32-bit X86 architectures that excel in professional and consumer applications,” stated Dan Vivoli, vice president of marketing at NVIDIA. “By combining AMD’s forthcoming processors with NVDIA’s graphics, audio, networking and streaming technologies, NVIDIA can deliver the fastest, most feature-rich, multimedia and networking experiences for both the consumer and commercial desktop PC markets.”
