Tijdens een persevenement van de film Faster, gaf acteur Billy Bob Thornton in een interview antwoord op de vraag of hij vaak over zijn rol in Bad Santa wordt geïnterviewd. Ook liet de acteur nieuwe informatie los over een eventuele sequel op de kerstfilm:
“Yeah, I get ‘Bad Santa’ a lot. ‘Bad Santa’ has become like a classic Christmas movie. People watch ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ and ‘Miracle on 34th St’ and ‘Bad Santa’ now is sort of the box set. And there’s been talk of making a sequel to it, which I actually would like to do. I’ve never done a sequel to one of my movies, but that one makes sense to me to do it.”Het is nog maar de vraag of Bad Santa 2 als productie ooit van de grond komt, maar deze foute kerstman verdient wat ons betreft zeker een tweede film.
