Fans vragen al jaren om Beyond Good & Evil 2, maar zonder succes: de game vertoont nog steeds geen teken van leven. Toch zou dit volgens maker Michel Ancel het ideale moment zijn om te beginnen met de ontwikkeling van de game. De next-gen consoles zijn immers niet ver meer van ons verwijderd.
Ancel wil fans niet geen valse hoop geven, maar hij laat weten dat dit theoretisch gezien het ideale moment is om te beginnen met de productie van Beyond Good & Evil 2:
We can’t talk too much about [Beyond Good & Evil 2] just to avoid disappointing people, but yes, we think that now the time could come to make this kind of game and move to this kind of very ambitious game.Ancel is zeker niet van plan om de game af te raffelen en is dan ook bereid om zijn leven volledig over te geven aan de productie van Beyond Good & Evil 2. Hij laat tegelijkertijd weten dat deze productie al snel drie jaar in beslag zal nemen:
I know this is going to take a part of our life. We need to be sure that everything is going to follow our project. Of course the company, but the hardware too. If the team, the company and the hardware are there, I believe that we can take three more years of our life… and just [make] the game.Momenteel kunnen we helaas niets anders doen dan geduldig wachten op meer nieuws over Beyond Good & Evil 2.
