De kogel is door de kerk: Battlefield 2042 gaat de geplande release in oktober niet halen. Electronic Arts en DICE hebben bekendgemaakt dat Battlefield 2042 officieel is uitgesteld tot 19 november. Als reden voor het uitstel noemt DICE de complexe situatie van een game ontwikkelen in corona-tijd.
Via Twitter gaf men onderstaande toelichting:
We had hoped our teams would be back in our studios together as we move towards launch. With the ongoing conditions not allowing that to happen safely, and with all the hard work the teams are doing from home, we feel it is important to take the extra time to deliver on the vision of Battlefield 2042 for our players.
Naar verwachting wordt ook de open bèta, die gepland staat voor eind deze maand, uitgesteld. Concreet nieuws hierover zal men later deze maand nog delen.
