Konami is bezig met bekende franchises

Onlangs heeft de grote baas van Konami Europa, Masami Saso, een interview gehouden met GamesIndustry.biz. Hij heeft hier naar buiten gebracht dat Konami bezig is met verschillende games binnen bekende franchises van de uitgever:

‘The devices to play games has diversified, and the number of people who have the chance to play games has increased. It is a part of our legacy to create new ideas and IPs to fit each age, and we believe that spirit is one of the reasons for our strength in the mobile game market. But, this isn’t to say that it’s left console releases in the past.

‘Even with new platforms coming out, we believe high-end console games are the most important. We challenge for innovative ideas and technology within our console games and apply them to other devices, so we will continue to put effort into our console games. In addition to the multi-device titles for PES and Yu-Gi-Oh, we plan to work on projects with other globally known IPs in the near future.’

Voor ons gamers is de grote vraag natuurlijk of Konami bezig is met een nieuwe Metal Gear Solid-game, misschien zelfs wel Metal Gear Solid 6? Hoewel bedenker Hideo Kojima de uitgever met ruzie heeft verlaten en binnenkort met Death Stranding op de proppen komt, liggen de rechten voor Metal Gear nog steeds bij Konami. Al is het natuurlijk maar de vraag of ze zich nog durven te branden aan de franchise, na de release van het belachelijke Metal Gear Survive.
