Hold on to your butts! De nominaties voor The Game Awards 2018 zijn bekend. De grote kanshebbers dit jaar zijn God of War en Red Dead Redemption 2. Beide titels hebben acht nominaties gekregen, waaronder de meest prestigieuze: Game of the Year. Andere titels die in de race zijn om bekroond te worden tot beste game van 2018 zijn Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Celeste , Marvel’s Spider-Man en Monster Hunter: World.
Stemmen op je favoriete game(s) is onder andere mogelijk via de website van The Game Awards. Volgens Geoff Keighley, host en oprichter van The Game Awards, wordt de show dit jaar groter dan ooit. We moeten er wel een nachtje voor doorhalen, want de show start voor ons in de nacht van 6 op 7 december om 2:30 uur. als t gaat om game of the year.. moeilijk. Zit met RDD nog bij chapter 3. God of War was geweldig.

Ik ben afgelopen weekend bij Chapter 4 geëindigd, en ik zal toch stemmen voor RDD2.
Ik vond God of War super mooi spel, maar vond het toch stukje minder vet dan de oude delen.
Er zijn nu te veel rpg elementen in het spel, te veel upgrades etc die je moet doen(Anders haal je gewoon niet).
Dit is gewoon niet echt mijn ding jammer dat meer die kant op ging, ik heb daardoor na de verhaallijn ook niet alle Valkeries enzo gedaan.

Nou ik wou wel stemmen maar laat maar zitten, je moet inloggen met asociale media jammer weer.
Zitten sowieso een aantal lekkere nominaties tussen. Into the Breach verdient het imho ook gewoon om strategiespel van het jaar te worden, terwijl Dead Cells van mij de indie-sector mag winnen.
De mate waarin er focus wordt gelegd op esports vind ik dan wel weer zorgwekkend. Misschien is dat in de VS heel anders, maar dat zou voor mij dus precies een segment zijn waar ik maar tien procent van het gebrabbel snap of interessant vind.
Naar mijn idee zijn andere prijzengala’s daar veel beter voor geschikt, hetzelfde geldt voor de content creation categorie. Ik snap dat Keighley en zijn team ook mee willen met de tijd, maar vraag me hardop af of dit de juiste keuzes zijn.
Best fighting game is wat mij betreft absoluut Soulcalibur. Dat sport/racing game één categorie is blijft me verbazen. Het zal wel door het gebrek aan een grote hoeveelheid kansvolle titels komen, maar je kunt dat toch niet met elkaar vergelijken. Een beetje zoals een award voor beste het beste hip hop album/broodbeleg.
De volgende die beweert dat singleplayer games dood zijn/gaan, die krijgt van mij oprecht een klap voor zijn muil.

I rest my case.
Ergens vet dat een game dusdanig goed kan zijn dat hij acht nominaties krijgt, maar aan de andere kant vrees ik voor een ernstig eenzijdige uitreikingsceremonie, want overal waar games als God of War en Spider-Man zijn genomineerd, doet ook Red Dead Redemption 2 mee. Recenter, gemiddeld een stuk betere reviews en niet exclusief voor één console. Vorig jaar won Breath of the Wild, maar ik betwijfel sterk dat een God of War of Spider-Man ook zo’n prestatie kan leveren. RDR2 is een beetje de Breath of the Wild van dit jaar, dus ik denk dat we het dit jaar net zo goed kunnen hebben over de Red Dead Redemption 2 Awards.
Ik verwacht een hoop prijzen voor RDR en en natuurlijk eentje voor Josef Fares, die trouwens best wel een prima spelletje had gemaakt
Ik verwacht dat God of War veel prijzen in de wacht gaat slepen. Daarbij hoop ik dat GOTY daartussen zit.

God of War had een prachtig verhaal idd maar uiteindelijk moet het een hack en slash game blijven. De rpg elementen vond ik persoonlijk niet heel uitgebreid maar qua armor upgraden enzo had dat voor mij niet gehoeven idd.
RDR2 speel ik eigenlijk vrij weinig. Komt mede doordat ik onder andere 150 uur in Dragon Quest 11 hebt gestopt een week voor de release van RDR2, Fortnite moet bijhouden qua challenges en ook nog steeds Clash of Clash speel. Teveel hooi op mn vork haha.
