Glen Schofield en Michael Condrey, beide afkomstig uit Visceral Games die onlangs nog zijn deuren moest sluiten, waren in 2009 een eigen studio begonnen die de naam Sledgehammer Games draagt. De studio is onder meer bekend van Advanced Warfare maar ook van het meest recente deel Call of Duty: WWII. Toch hebben zij nu de overstap gemaakt naar een andere divisie van Activision, zo laat Activision aan Kotaku weten:
Following the incredible success of Call of Duty: WWII, Glen Schofield and Michael Condrey have decided to transition from their duties at Sledgehammer Games to new executive duties inside Activision. We thank Glen and Michael for their tremendous body of work on Call of Duty and look forward to continuing to collaborate with them in their new roles.
Activision heeft, uit gepubliceerde e-mails, ook de onderstaande statements van Schofield en Condrey bekendgemaakt. Beiden zijn ze blij met de nieuwe kans die ze krijgen bij Activision:
