Iranese Killzone-kloon komt op 3 maart naar Steam

Extraterrestrial Armies (E.T. Armies) dook in 2013 op via IndieDB en ontving in hetzelfde jaar de titel “beste Indie van het jaar”. Het is je vergeven als je nu voor het eerst hoort over deze shooter, want naast de Indie-status bleef de berichtgeving over de ontwikkeling wat achter als gevolg van de internationale sancties tegen Iran. Deze sancties hadden onder andere als gevolg dat het voor Westerse uitgevers verboden was om games uit Iran in ons werelddeel uit te geven en dat had dus directe invloed op het product van Raspina, de ontwikkelaar van E.T. Armies die gevestigd is in Teheran.

Recent werden de sancties opgeheven en dat betekent ook dat er voor E.T. Armies geen belemmering meer is om op 3 maart via Steam beschikbaar te komen. Momenteel is het mogelijk om mee te dingen naar een plekje in de Beta die vanaf 27 februari van start gaat. De shooter belooft een ouderwetse ervaring te worden met zowel een singleplayer campaign als een online multiplayer. Voorlopig doet het universum van Raspina in veel opzichten denken aan Killzone.

E.T. Armies is an old school science fiction first person shooter. The game takes place in a dystopian future in which Earth’s resources have been depleted. Abandoning the planet seemed to be the only avenue for survival but not all could leave. Those left behind have become united in their struggle. It’s just the beginning for the Forsaken and the start of their devastating plan for vengeance. The Forsaken hungers for supremacy and power in equal measures and war is its lifeblood. As a Parsis soldier you are charged to resist this new power and defend the fragile landscape against the Forsaken’s ruthless onslaught. Along the way you’ll face more strife than you could have possibly expected, together with your allies you must fight to cleanse the land from the Forsaken’s brutality.

E.T. Armies is op 3 maart beschikbaar voor de PC en zal 14,99 euro gaan kosten.
