De Canadese premier Justin Trudeau roept zijn volk op om zich te verzetten tegen Gamergate. Trudeau noemt zichzelf een “trotse feminist” en stelt dat misogynie in videogames koste wat kost bestreden moet worden.
De 43-jarige Trudeau werd eerder deze week verkozen tot premier van Canada en heeft meteen al een duidelijke boodschap voor zijn volk:
The things we see online, whether it is issues like Gamergate or video games misogyny in popular culture, it is something that we need to stand clearly against.Trudeau geeft onder andere muziek en pornografie de schuld van de vrouwenhaat in games en popcultuur:
I think there’s probably an awful lot of factors that come together to shape societal behaviour.
