Deus Ex: Mankind Divided onthuld; eerste screenshots gelekt

Square Enix hint al sinds maandag naar een nieuwe game die officieel later vandaag pas onthuld wordt, maar een Russische website genaamd Kanobu is het bedrijf voor. Kanobu lekte namelijk per ongeluk het bestaan van Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, een new-gen-avontuur met wederom Adam Jensen in de hoofdrol.

Nadat screenshots van Mankind Divided uitlekten via Kanobu, besloot Game Informer te onthullen dat het spel volgende maand op zijn cover staat. Game Informer meldde tevens dat Mankind Divided de sterke basis van de Deux Ex-franchise behoudt, maar tegelijkertijd de minpunten uit het vorige deel wegpoetst. Vooral het combat-systeem, dat in Human Revolution regelmatig steekjes liet vallen, zal flink worden verbeterd. Ook zijn de baasgevechten beter aangepast op de verschillende speelstijlen, wat ze minder frustrerend zou moeten maken.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided speelt zich af in 2029, twee jaar na de gebeurtenissen in Human Revolution. Adam Jensen keert terug in een wereld die nu een hekel heeft aan transhumans. Om het vertrouwen van het volk terug te winnen, sluit Jensen zich aan bij een task force dat augmented terroristen opspoort en opsluit.

Jensen krijgt in Mankind Divided de beschikking over flink wat nieuwe augmentations die hem onder andere helpen bij stealth, combat en sociale interacties. Je hebt als speler meer keuzevrijheid dan ooit en kunt tot in detail bepalen hoe je confrontaties aanpakt, of juist uit de weg gaat. Al je keuzes beïnvloeden bovendien het verhaal en ook het einde ervan kan dus per speler verschillen.
