Het was al bekend dat nieuwe Fantastic Four film, die volgend jaar gaat uitkomen, bepaalde dingen anders zal brengen dan dat in de originele stripboeken wordt gedaan. Acteur Toby Kebbell (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), die in de film het karakter van Doctor Doom gaat spelen, heeft nu wat details vrijgegeven over zijn rol. In een interview met Collider zegt hij er het volgende over:
I’m excited to see it too, and my nerves really…The only thing I can tease you about is what I worked on most was the voice because nobody—even in the cartoons, when I was watching them I was like, “So where’s he from?” There’s a mild change. He’s Victor Domashev, not Victor Von Doom in our story. And I’m sure I’ll be sent to jail for telling you that. The Doom in ours—I’m a programmer. Very anti-social programmer. And on blogging sites I’m “Doom”.
De film wordt geregisseerd door Josh Trank die we kennen van zijn film Chronicle uit 2012. Naast Toby Kebbell kunnen we ook Kate Mara (The Invisible Woman), Miles Teller (Mr. Fantastic), Jamie Bell (The Thing) en Michael B. Jordan (The Human Torch) verwachten.
The Fantastic Four zal vanaf 6 augustus 2015 in de Nederlandse bioscopen te zien zijn.
