Waarom is The Last Guardian niet op de E3?

The Last Guardian schittert ook ditmaal van afwezigheid op de E3, of überhaupt op een beurs, en de baas van Sony Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, heeft soort van aangegeven waarom de game weer niet aanwezig is. Soort van ja, want een heel concreet antwoord gaf hij niet in een interview met Eurogamer.

Gamers zijn heartbroken omdat de studio achter The Last Guardian, Team ICO, al tijden niets heeft laten zien van de game, maar Yoshida zegt dat ze nog niets willen tonen als ze niet kunnen zeggen ‘dit is The Last Guardian’. De titel is in ieder geval nog in ontwikkeling en er gaan al tijden geruchten dat het spel overgeheveld is naar de PlayStation 4, maar zelfs dat is niet duidelijk.

As to what’s actually happening with The Last Guardian, which is widely believed to have shifted platform to PlayStation 4, the situation remains much as it was at Gamescom last year. ‘It’s the same message!’

Lots of people tweeted me they were heartbroken by that news [prior to the show]. People are going through this roller coaster of emotions, and it’s our fault for not releasing the game, yet. We owe a lot to those people, but we really don’t want to release piecemeal information until we can say this is The Last Guardian – so we ask you to wait.
