Het lijkt erop dat Oliver Stone, Warner Bros. en Dreamworks niet op één lijn zaten wat betreft de benadering van het verhaal van de biopic van Martin Luther King. Middels verschillende tweets spreekt hij zijn onvrede uit over het script dat Warner Bros. en Dreamworks voor de film willen gebruiken.
Stone richt zich in één van de tweets zelfs tot Matin Luther King en zegt: “Ik hoopte dat je de film zou zien die ik gemaakt zou hebben. Ik ben bang als ‘zij’ de film ooit nog gaan maken, het slechts nog een herinnering aan the March on Washington gaat worden.”

Helaas voor Oliver Stone gaat de film er alsnog komen, alleen moeten Warner Bros. en Dreamworks wel eerst op zoek naar een vervanger. Wanneer de film over Martin Luther King in de bioscopen zal verschijnen is nog niet bekend.
