Eerder deze week dook een interessante developer diary van ontwikkelaar Avalanche op. Hierin was te zien hoe medewerkers van de studio afreisden naar Costa Rica, om daar “onderzoek te doen naar complexe omgevingen voor toekomstige games.”
De Just Cause-sfeer was alomtegenwoordig in de video, maar desalniettemin houdt ontwikkelaar Avalanche de lippen momenteel stijf op elkaar. Volgens oprichter Christofer Sundberg is het momenteel nog te vroeg om te praten over de toekomst van de franchise:
We have been discussing what we’d like to do with the Just Cause IP in the future, but it’s too early to talk about it just yet.Sundberg liet wel weten dat de door fans gemaakte multiplayer mod voor Just Cause 2 “inspirerend” is geweest voor Avalanche:
The multiplayer mod has been really inspiring to us. It was a very positive surprise for us. When the community takes such an interest in your game, it’s a very solid stamp of approval. We reached out to the guys quite early and obviously gave them our blessing. The JC2-MP team has done a fantastic job.
