We maakten al duidelijk dat ontwikkelaar Sony Santa Monica gaat werken aan andere projecten, zoals The Order 1886 en een nog onaangekondigd project voor de PlayStation 4, en dat er dus geen nieuwe DLC verschijnt voor God of War: Ascension. Wel nog één grote update, maar dan houdt het op.
Of niet? Want gamers die graag een titel via de PlayStation Store aanschaffen en dus digitaal, én de nieuwste God of War nog niet hebben, kunnen blij zijn. Sony Santa Monica heeft namelijk gemeld dat Ascension later deze maand een digitale release krijgt op het PlayStation Network. De datum wordt nog onthuld.
De laatste slag voor God of War: Ascension wordt binnenkort dus een digitale release, een grote update om de balans te verbeteren, blijvende online support, alle DLC met korting in de verkoop, de soundtrack van de game gratis voor iedereen op het PlayStation Network voor een gelimiteerde periode en een Double XP Weekend wereldwijd van 18 tot en met 21 oktober.
- Upcoming Balance Update – Currently working on balance improvements that will tune-up all the Allegiances. This balance update will release later this month. Rest assured, things like the Ares Olympus Armor -20 (PR) are being heavily diagnosed.
- Dedicated Online Support – Team will be monitoring online 24/7 and any new major balance exploits discovered in the weeks or months ahead, will be assessed for fixing.
- PSN Digital Release in October – This month, a digital download version of God of War: Ascension will be released on October 15 for North America, with other regions to follow soon after.
- All DLC items will receive special pricing options upon digital version release in their region (NA pricing options released on October 22, 2013).
- The God of War: Ascension Soundtrack will be made available as a free download for all on PSN for a limited time only.
- Double XP Weekend returns October 18 to October 21 worldwide.
