Gisteren wisten we nog te melden dat hackers de inloggegevens van zeker 93.000 Sony-accounts hebben bemachtigd. Volgens John Smedley, president van Sony Online Entertainment is deze aanval niet gerelateerd aan de hack van afgelopen april.
We’ve said publicly when we were compromised before that the information is out there and could have been used. That was obviously the first thing we looked at.Volgens de beste man komt dit doordat de aanval niet heel erg succesvol was. Er was slechts een klein percentage aan successen, terwijl de aanval door een groot aantal hackers is uitgevoerd.Then we did the mathematical analysis and said, ‘Obviously that’s not what happened.’
I’m not going to say it’s impossible [the info came from Sony]. We just think that’s not the most likely case.
It’s just simple math. There was such a small percentage of successes. They were attacking with a large number. Because of that, the math tells us it wasn’t [Sony’s information.Those people in many cases had not yet done their password change. It takes some work to get them to focus on that,

dit is wel een teken dat sony nu echt bezig is met de beveiling en al flink verbeterd is nu.
want ik geloof niet dat ze maar 93000 account wilden stelen denk een hoop meer.
En dit kwam ook niet van Sony servers zelfs maar bij andere vandaan.
