Eerste details Starhawk verschenen; opnieuw third person view

Er gingen al lange tijd geruchten over de komst van een sequel op de populaire PlayStation 3-exclusive Warhawk, maar vandaag onthulde Lightbox Interactive dan eindelijk de komst van Starhawk. Het spel zal zich, zoals de naam al doet vermoeden, afspelen in een gedeelte van de ruimte genaamd “Frontier” in een tijdperk van goudzoekers. De singleplayer van het spel zal zich afspelen op een planeet, terwijl je de multiplayer matches uit zal vechten op de manen van die planeet. Vanochtend toonden we je al de eerste screenshots en een gameplay video, de eerste details zijn hieronder te vinden.

General Gameplay
– Mechs can be used for either ground combat or transformed for use in the air as a starcraft.
– SixAxis play will not be supported.
– Structures such as bunkers and turrets can be easily built and used.
– The third-person view is back.

Story
– Rift Energy (or Blue Gold) is a energy source that humans are gathering.
– There are two sides: the outcast and the rift miners.
– Emmit Graves (main character) and his brother are infected with Rift Energy.

Setting
– Starhawk is set in a portion of space called the Frontier. It is during a “gold rush” era.
– The singleplayer is on a planet and multiplayer maps are on the planet’s moons.

Multiplayer
– Killing enemies and completing objectives will earn you Rift Energy.
– This energy can be used to upgrade things like your aircraft, character, and building items/objects.
– You can either join the outcast team or rift miner team.
– One multiplayer map is Acid Sea and features rivers that contain lethal acid.
– Capture-the-flag and deathmatch modes are returning, among others.
– The multiplayer is set to be similar to Warhawk.
