Alle games voor de Xbox 360 worden geperst op DVD’s. Deze hebben een capaciteit van maximaal 8,7 GB, wat in schril contrast staat met de 50 GB die ontwikkelaars op de Blu-Ray’s voor de PlayStation 3 kwijt kunnen. Larry Hryb (beter bekend als Major Nelson), Director of Programming voor Xbox Live, onthulde zojuist dat Microsoft momenteel experimenteert met een nieuw discformaat met een capaciteit van maar liefst 9,7 GB. Men is al in een ver stadium: de schijfjes zijn al klaar om getest te worden:
