Met de vreselijke gebeurtenissen in Japan, is het meer dan logisch dat allerlei steunbetuigingen volgen. Japan is natuurlijk een land met aanzienlijk veel gamestudio’s en ontwikkelaars, die om de beurt allemaal hun steun betuigen. Zo is er ook een steunbetuiging van de Japanse gameontwerper Hideo Kojima. De man achter Metal Gear Solid heeft een open brief naar de Japanse bevolking geschreven. Welke hij afsluit met een mooie quote van Snake uit Metal Gear Solid 1.
I would like to offer my deepest thoughts and my sincerest condolences for the many victims and many who lost their lives in the March 11, 2011 earthquake that struck the Tohoku region near the Pacific coast of Japan.Our job is providing everyone with cheer and bringing encouragement to people around the world through the medium of entertainment and that is exactly the type of support that we can provide.
We are indeed facing an unprecedented situation that we have not experienced before. However, we should not abandon hope but look forward to the future and unite to restore Japan for the sake of the next generation.
May smiles return once again to the region struck by the disaster, to Japan, to our future, and to ourselves as well.
