Sony’s eigen Everquest II zou binnenkort wel eens het World of Warcraft: Cataclysm-pad volgen en op de zogenoemde ”reset” knop klikken. Sony Online baas John Smedley vertelde Kotaku dat de uitgever al een tijdje heeft zitten nadenken over een Cataclysm-achtige herstart.
“We are looking at it closely, we have been for a number of years now,” he admitted. “Is it something we would do within the next expansion cycle? Probably not. But I think it’s interesting.”World of Warcraft’s Cataclysm uitbreiding, die morgen zal verschijnen, laat de totaal veranderde wereld van Azeroth zien en wij danken daarbij natuurlijk Deathwing the Destroyer.
“I think World of Warcraft is looking great, I think it’s going to bring a lot of people back into the game; they hit the reset button. The reason I respect Blizzard so much is that they don’t make massive mistakes. They have the goods and they know it. So why not take a risk like that?”
