De Zweedse actrice Noomi Rapace (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo) tekende vorige maand al een contract om de vrouwelijke hoofdrol in Sherlock Holmes 2 te gaan spelen. In een interview bevestigde ze dat ze een Franse zigeuner zal spelen en dit tweede deel zal wederom lekker vlot en humoristisch zijn, net zoals de eerste Sherlock Holmes-film van Guy Ritchie.
Voor haar rol in Sherlock Holmes 2 moet Rapace zich uiteraard voorbereiden, want ze moet geloofwaardig overkomen als een reizende zigeuner, die cool maar ook enigszins gek is. Ze vertelde het volgende over haar voorbereiding:
“I’m doing a lot of research about gypsies. I’m going to Paris to visit some gypsy camps, and I’m going to Transylvania to actually see how they live. Because the gypsies are so poor, they live pretty much the same as they did then, and they keep in the traditions and all of that, so when you go to Transylvania, for example, they live pretty close to the way they lived hundreds of years ago. So I’m listening to gypsy music and I’m learning to sing and dance.”
