Volgend jaar kunnen we ons weer gaan uitleven om Pacific City van alle ellende te zuiveren in Crackdown 2 en volgens lead designer Steve Iannetta is Crackdown 2 gebaseerd op een missie uit de eerste game. Het vervolg speelt zich 10 jaar na de eerste game af, waarbij de Shi-Gen inmiddels bekend staan als The Freaks. Iannetta verklaarde:
- “Well “The Freaks” were from the first game. The Shi-Gen – once you killed the boss — you unleashed the freaks into the world. Basically it’s a continuation of that. It’s ten years later and because of your actions you’ve turned the city into, basically, a living hell. Nighttime is just “freak” time. You can’t go out at night. Daytime civilians are scurrying about trying to get themselves the necessities of life and when it comes to dusk you’ll see them scuttling home.”
Kortom, er valt weer genoeg schoon te maken in de stad straks…
Crackdown 2 speelt zich af in een toekomstig Pacific City. De game beschikt over een co-op modus voor vier spelers en een competitieve multiplayer met diverse spelmodi voor zestien spelers. Het spel is uiteraard ook als singleplayer te spelen, waarbij je hetzelfde avontuur beleeft als in de co-op modus, net zoals in de eerste Crackdown-game.
Crackdown 2 verschijnt in 2010 voor de Xbox 360.
Euhm… Crackdown 1 speelde zich af in een computersimulatie als ik het me goed herinner. Waarna we klaar waren om met Crackdown 2 de echte wereld binnen te stappen.
