De mensen van MekTek hebben een gratis expansion voor MechWarrior 4 ter download beschikbaar gesteld. De expansion bevat het volgende:
- 9 New ‘Mechs including the Marauder, the Warhammer, and the Avatar. Legendary ‘mechs of Battletech lore have emerged from games past and are now available to a new generation of ‘mech fans. Thanks to MekTek, the revolution of one of our favorite PC games has begun.
- 9 New Weapons including the Heavy Large Laser, the Inferno Streak Missile, and the Hyper Velocity Auto Cannons. A variety of previously dreamed about weapons are now a part of the MW4 universe. The missile, laser, and ballistic classes have been appended with even more ferocity with the implementation of the MekPak.
- An entirely new batch of maps based on the MS Mercs terrains, such as Exford PRO, Sanddunes PRO, and Tumbleweed PRO. ‘Mechs and weapons are nice, but they are nothing without a battleground. Included in the MekPak is the continuation of the popular “PRO” series of maps. The MekPak auto-installs these MS altered maps into the proper location, allowing for the ease of “patch and play.” Best of all, no terrain files are needed as they are based off of Mercs’ terrains.
- The TRO Worthy ‘Mech – Ares. Created by the wizards of the MekTek MekPak staff, the Clan Ares is a worthy addition to the expanding ‘mech line up of Mercs. Retrofitted with jump jets and loaded with a brutal load out, the Ares is truly a sight to behold on the battlefield.
- Current ‘Mech and Weapon Alterations. New additions are fun to use, but the “shelved” material desperately wants to see the light of day. Thus, MekTek decided to give “face lifts” to the “shelved” ‘mechs, such as the Awesome and Chimera, and weapons, like the C/MG’s and S/MRM’s.
