Take Two Interactive gaat TDK Mediactive overnemen. Dat maakten de twee bedrijven ons vandaag bekend. Take Two ziet toekomst (en geld) in een complete overname, en de Amerikaanse uitgever gaat deze Limburgse cassettebandjesverkoper dan ook opkopen. Take Two zal namelijk voor 22,7 miljoen euro dollar alle aandelen van de gamestak van TDK kopen. Daardoor wordt Take Two eigenlijk de baas over TDK, en krijgt het de rechten om alle games uit te geven, en uiteraard de winst op te strijken.
TDK Mediactive was van plan om The Haunted Mansion, Corvette, Star Trek: Shattered Universe, Shrek 2, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Land Before Time en Masters of the Universe uit te brengen. Niet echt de topgames waar we wakker van liggen, maar toch zullen ze zorgen voor redelijke verkoopcijfers.

Het is dus duidelijk dat Take Two van deze overname waarschijnlijk alleen maar meer marktaandeel zal gaan halen, en natuurlijk ook meer centen…
